What are the 4C's of choosing a Diamond?
The 4 Cs – Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat provide a way of grading & certifying diamonds. It is these characteristics that determine the value, rarity and beauty of every diamond. Click here for an introduction and guide to obtaining your ideal jewel.

What is Rhodium?
Rhodium is a precious metal similar to platinum with a white, shiny appearance. It can be used to coat silver or white gold to protect from tarnish and improve appearance.

What is 18k High-palladium White Gold?
Pure gold is called 24k gold. 18k gold is 18 parts gold out of 24, the remaining 6 parts are other metals like silver or copper.

The more silver there is in the mixture, the whiter it gets - this is called white gold. Most white gold is still a bit yellow and has to be plated. Our 18k gold is mixed with the precious metal palladium which makes the mixture more of a grey colour and that means you don’t need to plate it if you don’t want too.

What are Peacock Pearls?
Peacock pearls are a unique member of the pearl family which come in an array of vibrant petrol colours. Our peacock pearls are a deep blue-grey colour with both purple and green reflections.

What is a Hallmark?
The hallmark is a symbol stamped on articles of gold, silver, or platinum by the British assay offices, certifying their standard of purity. The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office in Central London is where hallmarking began, and has been testing and hallmarking precious metals for over 700 years. All Victoria Barker Fine Jewellery is hallmarked at the London Assay Office.
